Getting the Most Out of Your Annual Wellness Visit

Posted By Nicole Singh | July 29, 2026

One of the questions I hear most from patients is, "What should I actually bring to my annual visit?" A little preparation goes a long way toward making our time together more productive — and more useful to your long-term health picture.

A few things worth doing beforehand:

Write down anything that's changed since your last visit — new symptoms, medications, supplements, or even shifts in sleep, stress, or exercise. These details often matter more than patients expect.

Bring a current list of medications and dosages, including anything over-the-counter or supplements you take regularly.

Note any family health updates, especially new diagnoses among close relatives, since family history can shift our screening recommendations.

Jot down your questions in advance. It's easy to forget them once we start talking, and I'd rather you leave with everything answered.

If you're due for any preventive screenings — bloodwork, imaging, vaccinations — we'll review those together during the visit, but flagging anything you're unsure about ahead of time helps us use our appointment time well.

As always, this visit is about more than checking boxes. It's a chance for us to look at the full picture of your health and make sure your care plan still fits your life. If you have questions before your appointment, don't hesitate to reach out.
